Audience with His Holiness The Dalai Lama

November 2nd 2010 in Dalai Lama´s Residence in Dharamsala, Northen India

It is an exiting moment sitting in the beautiful room with thanka-paintings on the walls and a big picture of Buddha in the front, waiting for HH the Dalai Lama´s entrance.

When HH the Dalai Lama enters the room the atmosphere changes and I can feel his loving kindness

HH the Dalai Lama takes my hand!

In the Residence of HH the Dalai Lama in Dharmasala, northen India, many of Geshe Pema Dorjee´s friends and supporters from 11 different countries have gather for an audience with one of the greatest leaders of this world today. Geshe Pema Dorjee talks about all his valuable projects in Nepal and India and then HH the Dalai Lama stands up.

After a short talk in Tibetan he addresses the people from the West.

”I have nothing to say;” he begins with a smile. But he gives us valuable wisdom and knowlage.

Here comes my memories from the talk of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

All religions are basically good. Buddhism is mostly based on feelings
Buddhist philosopy has something to give to the people in the West. It is not only my opinion, the Dalai Lama says. I have talked to scientist at the University of Stanford, Wisconsin and Emory in the USA and they agree. Modern science and buddhist philosophy need to work together. A sort of marriage or meeting between East and West.
I think you people in the West need mental training to get harmony. To get inner peace and hope you have to train your mind.
Peace comes from inner peace. There will be peace in the world when people get inner peace not out of contracts written between countries.
The material word can give people some sort of comfort but it can not make people happy on a deaper level.
Every country has it´s one cultur. That is your backboon. It is good to keep your culture and your own tradition.
In one or two generations the cultur will dissapear if you don´t get the right education.
That is good but we also need scientistic development.
Ancient wisdom combined with scientistic development is the way to get a better word.
I have nothing more to say!

After the talk it is time for the photo- session. When I am standing on the podium with the other people from Sweden I feel a warm, powerful hand in mine. The Dalai Lama has taken my hand and I get totaly relaxed.

My gift for HH the Dalai Lama is my book” The winds of change” . I get the opportunity to give him my book saying: ”I have written this book for Your Holiness and Your Tibetan people.” He takes the book and then my hand again and pulls me up on the podium.

”Peace be with you,” was my last words to HH the Dalai Lama and with a feeling of love and gratitude I leave the room.
